Apples

Last week Greg, Sheldon, Billy, Christy, and I went apple picking.  I had never gone before and thought it would be fun.  We had a good time.  I think we'lll make it a yearly tradition.

The whole week our house smelled like apples.  I made two batches of apple butter and applesauce, as well as an apple crumb pie, apple crisp, and apple streusel muffins.  Recently I've been very interested in making homemade things.  They are usually healthier, cheaper, and tastier, plus there's just something about the smell of food cooking and the satisfaction of knowing that you made something from scratch.

I'm so incredibly thankful to have a husband who is willing to allow me to stay at home and do such things.  I've always enjoyed being domestic and am such a homebody, so it's nice for me to be able to stay home and do what I enjoy. Plus now that we have a son I love that I can stay home with him and don't have to take him to daycare.  I love the little guy and can't imagine leaving him with someone to go to work.  I would miss out on so much.
